Loc'd and Love It!!!

Picture
As I mentioned Im loc'ing my hair. it will be 2yrs. on August 16th and its a big deal for me. I've been natural for most of my life. I've only had 2 perms in my life and both didnt work for me. I have always had corn rows for 17 yrs. and when I graduted high school I needed a hairstyle that I could maintain on my own because my mother did my hair which meant i didnt have to pay her. and I knew that going to college i would have to pay some one to do my hair. So the entire summer i went back and forth between locs and micro-braids rating the pros and cons of both. I did alot of research on locs. i read books, talked to my aunt and my cousin who both have locs, even talk to some of my mother's friends how have locs, and eventually i made the choice to loc my hair.

My mother overly excited about it because she always wanted me to loc my hair, and i always said no, but i'm glad i loc'd my hair when i did because I really appreciate my hair now, and even more. Locin' my hair has been on of the most rewarding and fulfilling things i have ever done. I find it to be so liberating and has sky-rocketed since getting my locs. and I wouldnt trade ithem for the world.  It's on of those things that make you feel so empowered and extra sexy. and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY HAIR.

Below you'll see some pics from my early stages and right up until now. also I have different hair styles that I like to play around with. Alot of the hair ideas i have come from different inspirations from Youtube or different natural hair sites. So hope you all enjoy.

Side Sweep!

Picture
This little look i love. i had curled my hair for a party i went to. I used sponge rollers so it lasted long than using perm rods. and I was playing around different things to do with my hair so i side sweep look. and just secured it with hair pins. and this is what i got.

All twisted!

Picture
This lil flat twist look i came up with. On both sides of my head i did three rows of flat twist and as you can see in the middle I did a little hump. and put in a side ponytail. Its a great summer look that I love to wear. great with large earrings.

Loc bun!

Picture
The loc bun, i did it with the basket weave in the front. but its really very simple. pull your hair into a ponytail. braid the hair in the ponytail and tuck the braids into the hair tie. it was my first up-do i tried and got so many compliments on it. and it showed of my tattoo that is on the back of my neck. I've worn this many many times and everytime i do it looks amazing.
